In one way it's quite logical.

Over the years, whenever I make a WTB thread, it always includes a Beastmaster's Beastmaster Harness of Beast Mastery.
Nobody has ever responded with one.

Does this qualify ?
In Hm and its quite often tho - kill a naga ( any of the places ) and i got 2 scale drop , not a big number but only 2.Other foes have dropped larger amounts of materials in hm except the naga.
It sort of made everyone lol in the team because its only 2 and its been done/seen on several diff farms - and yes it was def hm.
The 2 greens from a boss - sorrows furnace i believe is the place as greens seem to drop very easy round grenths footprint and ive had 2 greens from 1 boss and i think was gorrel.

I once saw 3 elite tomes drop from a chest for the same person, but not from a boss. Here's the screenshot, although it only proves that someone picked up 3 tomes - unfortunately, items dropping from a chest aren't recorded in the chat:

nothing TOO extreme here, but 4 different drops from one boss was pretty special to me. Have seen one guy get all 3 kanaxai weapons in the same Deep run, but no screen of that...luckily was an alliance run so not TOO much annoyance lol.

Multiple elite tomes from chests is not that unusual. All it means is that more than one human in the party was assigned that drop in the chest, and the way it works is that the first one of those people that opens the chest gets all copies. Unfortunately the other poeple that "lost" their drops can't even get to open the chest.
I have seen triple elite ele tomes drop only once and that was in an Urgoz run. Having 12human players in the party means 12 assigned drops per chest so that makes it a more common occurance in Urgoz and the Deep. I have seen double elite tomes drop on numerous occasions in Urgoz. On a rarer note I have seen at least 4 occasions where double elites dropped when there were only 2 humans in the party doing VQ's. Much rare to get 2 of 2 the same compared to 2 or 3 of 12.
Oddest thing I ever saw - I even have it screen shotted. I ran out of Jaya Bluffs, nub island normal mode. Killed the very first Yeti I came to and he dropped a sapphire. Sapphires are rare enough at the best of times, but nub island normal mode made my jaw drop.

I figured since there were a couple mentions of 4 items from a single boss I'd throw this one in here.
I suppose the white dye made up for the claws.

Well, I never usually see out of place drops. I don't find any drop as something too strange.
But I find some drops amusing, even though they are logical.
Carven effigies are part of the undead army, and so they drop the same undead trophy as the rest of the awakened: Mummy wrappings.
But they are not mummies, they aren't even coffins with a mummy inside or something like that. They are constructs animated with an elemental spirit, elementals like the Stone Summit golems, and as mere statues carved in stone, there should not be a single piece of cloth in them, yet they still drop mummy wrappings.
Another example of amusing drops are monstrous eyes, claws and/or fangs from enemies with no eyes, claws and/or fangs.

No screen to prove it but once had an ecto drop from one of the undead in the Normal mode Riverside Province mission! I think it was the first ecto I ever found and it was REAL odd to see it here.

It's in their stomach. You slit it open and grab it right out of it. Remember the roman proverb: "pecunia non olet".
